Selling on Fiverr long enough to encounter a difficult customer is inevitable. Managing these customers well will have a significant impact on your Fiverr reviews and earnings.
Fiverr clients
In my experience as a Fiverr seller, I've only encountered problematic customers very seldom. Today, I had to deal with a customer who was one of the most challenging I've ever encountered. The good news is that he provided constructive criticism, but the bad news is that I had to put in much more time to the job to make it happen.
The customer expected to pay $5 for labour worth $50. Fortunately, this kind of customer is rare, but when it does arise, you must decide whether to insist on your policies and risk negative feedback or cave in to the demands of the client.
This consumer was satisfied after I put in just approximately 10 more minutes into a 5-minute engagement. Instead of taking a more aggressive stance, I decided to invest the effort into avoiding the negative comments. There has only been one instance when a client and I couldn't reach an agreement, and that client had a laundry list of demands that would have taken hours to fulfil.
Remember that the challenging clients you encounter on Fiverr are really the ones that hold the key to your future success. A misunderstanding is usually to blame, and only a small percentage of people will try to take advantage of you. Fortunately, there aren't many bad actors on Fiverr. Most individuals are normal folks trying to make ends meet by purchasing or selling something of value, and this includes you and me.
Okay, I've had my rant for the day. Remember to check back for this week's big event information. Every week, I'll scour Fiverr for wildly successful jobs and share what I've learned about how those sellers achieve their results with you. There's still a long way to go!
