5 Ezine Substitutions 2022

I usually discuss the following five concepts with them:

1. The Evergreen Ezine

5 Ezine Substitutions 2022

Last year, I first heard about this idea on a teleclass and was astounded that I hadn't thought of it myself. My clients often express the same surprise when I bring up this idea.

A newsletter is considered evergreen if its content is always relevant. It isn't dependent on current fashions or what's popular in your sector. It's reliable knowledge that every person should be aware of, based on ideas or methods that hardly ever alter.

Gather your material for as many issues as you intend to publish, write each issue, and then insert each issue into an auto responder system so that it will be sent out automatically at the intervals you specify to create an evergreen newsletter.

This solution requires some upfront work, but after that, you can "set it and forget it" until you run out of problems. Then, you can either let it continue as-is or repeat the technique above to produce a new set of problems.

2. Ecourse

A simple sequence of emails that communicate important information with your reader over time might be created as an ecourse.

I employ this strategy myself. You also receive a membership to my ezine when you enrol in my mini-ecourse. I could just offer the e-course as a standalone option, but if I did that, I would extend the series by more days (say, from the present 5 to 26), and I would send them out periodically to keep in touch with my list.

Once the basic work is done, an ecourse can be set up in an autoresponder service as another "set it and forget it" option.

3. Audio Hint

Consider an audio tip if you would rather speak than type. I advise my coaching clients who are just starting their written ezines that each issue doesn't need to contain more than one great advice.

The same applies if you decide to design an audio keep-in-touch tool for your list. Every week, a coworker of mine sends out a 1-minute audio (and video) marketing tip, and it's really popular.

Using a low-cost service like AudioAcrobat is the simplest way to create and share audios online.

4. Blog

If you enjoy writing and are willing to update frequently, if you employ search engine optimization to continuously boost your blog's visibility to your market, and if you include a subscription form on your blog so your followers may be notified when you add a new post.

Blogger.com and Typepad both offer free and affordable blogging platforms (which is the service I use for my personal and business blog).

5. VIP List

Encourage them to join up so they can receive exclusive deals from you. You should be aware that people will sign up to receive discounts and other exclusive offers from you if you ask them to do so because many of us do this in our daily life for retailers we frequent (a quick glance at my inbox reveals offers from Eddie Bauer, Old Navy, Red Envelope, etc.).

It's better to employ this tactic with a group of individuals who are already familiar with you, perhaps through a live event or if you have a blog where you regularly publish to stay in touch with people.
